On 5 June 2018, Alma Sistemi was among the winners of the European Contract KETs – Enabling Technologies.

The project aims to combine the innovative technology of meta-materials, which have properties superior to ordinary materials, with the dynamic characteristics of plasma, in order to develop highly innovative communication structures. These structures do not yet exist at European level and are applicable to the aerospace sector.

The M2P project explores new technological applications in the field of telecommunications through the use of advanced materials.

The research responds to the growing need to develop telecommunications and navigation antennas offering high gain, reconfigurability, anti-jamming and anti-spoofing capabilities, while also meeting increasingly stringent requirements in terms of weight, size and energy consumption.

Alma Sistemi has been active for over ten years in the aerospace and defence sector, achieving important results in consultancy and in the development of new products and services. It operates on the international market in the fields of remote sensing, image processing and software for testing space and avionics systems.

The M2P project is developed in collaboration with the Engineering Department of Roma Tre University. It is the latest in a series of research, development and innovation activities in which Alma Sistemi plays a leading international role in computer and mechanical engineering as well as in project engineering applied to space, environmental and ICT domains.

Total investment of the project: €281,500

Admitted contribution: €225,050

Promoter: Alma Sistemi S.A.S., Guidonia Montecelio (RM) – www.alma-sistemi.com

Research organisation: Università degli Studi Roma Tre
